Prior to retiring from the Navy, I knew that I wanted to work in a field where I could continue to serve. I’ve always volunteered with renowned organizations such as American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, and Home Life Thailand, but I wanted to make difference in the community in which I grew up in.

DALLAS, Texas (Feb. 17, 2020) The University of North Texas at Dallas’ Urban SERCH Institute and Stars United Global Outreach, a southern Dallas nonprofit founded by UNT Dallas alumna Star Williams, have teamed up to prepare students to not only become job seekers, but job creators through entrepreneurship training.

Stars United Global Outreach works with at-risk youth to deliver high impact training by empowering, educating, and mobilizing them to create social change and break barriers. Through their programs and workshops, youth grow in their life skills, leadership skills, and financial literacy with a keen focus on entrepreneurship & economic development.
Stars United Global Outreach founder and executive director Star Williams’ passion for her organization’s mission is impossible to ignore. This organization goes above and beyond to help its students see that, as Star says, “they’re not at risk, they’re at promise.”
